Three men tracked down in North Spokane robbery

Three men were arrested in a northeast Spokane neighborhood on Wednesday night after a resident of the area was robbed of his prescription medication in an incident involving gunfire. The arrests came after officers called in a K-9 team and cordoned off the area where the robbers had abandoned a car. Taken into custody on one count each of first-degree robbery were Lonnie A. Hoover, 21, Terrence E. Skinner, 25, and Travis L. Yarbrough, 23, all from Spokane. The robbery was reported at 10:44 p.m. when the victim was confronted and had a gun shot fired at him in the vicinity of Hoffman Avenue and Regal Street. Officer Casey Jones was in the area and spotted a vehicle matching one used by the robbers headed north on Crestline Avenue. When the officer caught up, three men got out and ran. A gun was found in the car. The K-9 team tracked down two of the suspects while a resident caught one in his backyard in the vicinity of Nebraska Avenue and Cook Street. Sgt. Kevin King in a press release later thanked residents for their patience after some of them were blocked from access to their homes during the operation.
