Coeur d’Alene police catch robbery suspect

Coeur d’Alene police officers spotted a vehicle traveling north from a bank robbery and arrested a man in connection with the holdup on Thursday.

Sean C. Pennell was booked into Kootenai County Jail in connection with the crime about 5:30 p.m.

He was held for using a rifle to rob a Wells Fargo Bank at 114 E. Appleway Ave.

An officer spotted Pennell heading north on Government Way and followed the vehicle until other officers arrived to assist. Stolen cash was recovered from Pennell’s vehicle, police said.
