Moscow’s Williams wins Pacific Coast Amateur

The Spokesman-Review
Chris Williams continued his torrid summer by winning the 45th Pacific Coast Amateur on Friday with a second consecutive course-record 66 at Martis Camp Club in Truckee, Calif. Williams (University of Washington/Moscow High) finished at 11-under-par 277 to claim medalist honors by two strokes. He began the day tied for second place, three shots out of first. Two eagles highlighted Williams’ round, which matched his 6-under effort from Thursday. He also birdied the final hole. The win was Williams’ second in three events that make up the West Coast swing. He won the Sahalee Players Championship in Sammamish, Wash., earlier this month.
