Inside Schools: Ehlers going to Greenacres Elementary

The Central Valley School Board has selected Lindsay Ehlers as the new principal assistant at Greenacres Elementary School.

Ehlers has been a teacher at Liberty Lake Elementary School for the last 10 years. She was selected from a pool of 33 applicants.

She was approved unanimously by the board during its regular meeting Monday.

Off-site servers

The Central Valley School Board also voted to move the district’s computer servers to an off-site location next school year.

TierPoint will now house and manage the district’s technology infrastructure, saving the district an estimated $283,266 over a five-year period. Superintendent Ben Small said with its current system, the district would need to pay for an upgrade to its servers, upgrade the room that houses the servers, plus, there would be licensing fees for its software. The change would also cut two employee positions.

The system should be up and running parallel to the current system by the beginning of the school year through November or December, when the new system will take over.

“Our systems will have to learn to live in that virtual environment,” Small said.
