Filing deadline Friday

If you are interested in running for office, you have until Friday to file with Spokane County.

You can file in person at the Spokane County Elections Office, 1033 W. Gardner Ave. from Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. File through the mail, but your filing must be received by 4 p.m. Friday. Anything received after 4 p.m., no matter the postmark, will not be accepted. You can also file online at www.spokanecounty.org/ elections starting at 9 a.m. Monday.

For many offices there is a filing fee, but if you want to run for a school board, there is no fee.

There are many offices up for grabs in the Valley Voice’s circulation area.

City council

• Liberty Lake: Positions for mayor and council positions 1, 3, 5 and 7 will be on the ballot.

• Spokane Valley:

Council positions 2, 3, 5 and 6

• Millwood: Positions 3, 4 and 5

• Fairfield: Positions 3, 4 and 5

• Rockford: Positions 3, 4 and 5

School boards

• Central Valley: Districts 1, 3 and 4

• East Valley: Districts 1 and 2

• Freeman: Districts 1, 3 and 5

• Liberty: Districts 1 and 5

• West Valley: Districts 3 and 4

Fire commissioners

• Spokane Valley position 5

• Fire District 2, position 3

• Fire District 8, positions 1 and 3

• Fire District 10, position 3

• Fire District 11, position 3

• Fire District 12, positions 1 and 3

• Fire District 13, position 3

Sewer Districts

• Liberty Lake Sewer District 1, position 3
