New Faces

Judith Brown has been hired as business manager for the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute. She previously directed the Idaho Center on Budget and Tax Policy and has worked as a staff economist and self-employed consulting economist within the Idaho nonprofit community. She holds master’s degrees in economics and agricultural economics from Michigan State University.

ALSC Architects of Spokane has hired David Elms as a project architect. He is a licensed architect and LEED-accredited professional, and has 30 years of related experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Washington State University. The firm also hired Queena Dao as an administrative assistant. Dao previously attended Ferris State University and volunteered at Mobius Kids children’s museum.

Scott Williams has been hired as a mortgage loan originator for Cherry Creek Mortgage Company’s Spokane Valley office. He previously worked for Quantum Mortgage and has 16 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry.

Hart Capital Management has hired Garrett Anacker as a securities analyst. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in finance and international business from Gonzaga University.

Promotion

David Giordano has been promoted from associate to associate principal for DCI Engineers in Spokane. He has been with the firm since 1998.

Kudos

The Spokane Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau presented the Spokane Lilac Festival Association with a 2011 Inland Northwest Tourism Award in the “Festival and Events” business category.

Beacon Cleaners, owned by Bum Kim, has received an “EnviroStars” certified business designation, for the business’ commitment to reducing hazardous waste and preventing pollution.

The Washington Misdemeanant Corrections Association named Donna McBride Supervisor of the Year. McBride is chief probation officer for the City of Spokane.

Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp. received five 2010 Safety Achievement Awards from the International Society of Mine Safety Professionals, for the company’s operations in North and South America.

Gifts

The Inland Northwest Community Foundation received $100,000 from JP Morgan Chase to benefit Priority Spokane in its efforts to lower the Spokane area’s high school dropout rate.

Elected

The following individuals have been elected as officers for the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women-Spokane’s 2011-12 board of directors: president, Nicole Shea of Mountain West Bank; vice president, Matt Burchill of Spokane County Title; secretary, Cheleena Pentaude of Chuck Horne Real Estate Closings Inc.; and treasurer, Kathy Lyda of Numerica Credit Union.
