Valley Fire crews contain Sunday garage blaze

Crews spend 90 minutes responding and containing fire

Spokane Valley Fire Department crews spent 90 minutes Sunday morning putting out a garage fire, at 1620 N. Rio Grande Lane.

The owner of the attached home called in the report. A smoke detector in the garage apparently caught the man’s attention.

Station Ladder 10 responded and entered the garage and contained the fire from spreading.

The owner, his daughter and a friend escaped the house unharmed. Investigators have not identified a cause of the fire.
