3 arrested in North Side parking lot robberies

Three people are accused of robbing two women in north Spokane parking lots Saturday.

Suspects Donovan T. Johnson, 18; Keona A. Crossley, 19; were arrested after a standoff at 1903 E. Decatur. Suspect Logan R. Sims, 18, was arrested in a nearby yard.

Police searched the home after locating a car matching the description of the car used in robberies at Wal-Mart and the Northtown Mall.

In the first instance, a woman was in her car in the parking lot at 9212 N. Colton when a man with a gun demanded money and punched her in the face just before 5 p.m. He left in a white car with a woman and another man.

Then at 6:40 p.m., a woman was walking to her car in the mall parking lot, 4700 N. Division St., when a car pulled up and a gunman got out and demanded her purse.

A witness then reported occupants of a tan vehicle were dropping credit cards and receipts into the roadway near North Napa Street and East Central Avenue.

The cards belonged to the Northtown robbery victim, police said.

Detectives found a shotgun and a handgun in the Decatur home. They believe the handgun was used in the robberies.

Johnson, Crossley and Sims were booked into Spokane County Jail on two counts of first-degree robbery.

Get tough with them. Use them as examples if you must, but get these thugs off the street for a long time.

uh, first-degree robbery means a weapon was used. Gun enhancement will come at sentencing.
