Rock blasting brings evening closures to I-90

Rock blasting for a construction project will close Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass on each of the next three nights, state officials said.

The freeway will be closed at 7:30 p.m. today, Tuesday and Wednesday for about an hour. The closures for blasting are expected weekly throughout the summer.

Workers are in the third year of a project to widen I-90 east of Snoqualmie Pass. Rock cliffs are being reduced to provide more room for additional lanes and to increase safety to the traveling public.
