Rock blasting brings evening closures to I-90

Rock blasting for a construction project will close Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass on each of the next three nights, state officials said. The freeway will be closed at 7:30 p.m. today, Tuesday and Wednesday for about an hour. The closures for blasting are expected weekly throughout the summer. Workers are in the third year of a project to widen I-90 east of Snoqualmie Pass. Rock cliffs are being reduced to provide more room for additional lanes and to increase safety to the traveling public. For more information, go to the state transportation web site
