Communitywide yard sale will be Saturday

LIBERTY LAKE – The 18th annual Liberty Lake Yard Sale will be Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A map of participating homes is available online at www.libertylakesplash.com. There will be food and vendors in Pavillion Park at Country Vista Drive and Molter Road.

The event is organized by the Kiwanis Club of Liberty Lake.

Wine event will support hospital programs

SPOKANE VALLEY – Local wineries and wine lovers will come together to raise money for psychiatric programs at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital on Saturday at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Pour honors the late Dr. Michael Manz, a child psychiatrist at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital and winemaker and founder of Spokane’s Mountain Dome Winery.

The annual event will include a five-course gourmet dinner prepared by chef Romeo Herrera of Catered for You and 10 wines will be poured with dinner. Live and silent auctions also will be held featuring travel packages, an authentic Chilean dinner for six, cooking classes from Downriver Grill, and local and regional wine tasting packages.

Wineries featured in the dinner include Arbor Crest, Barrister, Ensemble, Fort Walla Walla and Latah Creek.

Tickets are $150 per person and space is limited.

Chase Youth Commission seeks teens’ involvement

RIVERSIDE – The Chase Youth Commission is in need of 13- to 18-year-olds who want to share their voice in local community issues and be a youth commissioner or a member of the Teen Advisory Council for the 2011-’12 school year.

Welcome Indians players at Max event Tuesday

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Max at the Mirabeau Hotel, 1100 N. Sullivan Road, will host a welcome party for Spokane Indians baseball players Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Indians fans are invited to meet the 2011 players and enjoy food specials and prize giveaways.

Wednesday marks start of summer cribbage club

EDGECLIFF – The Lilac City Cribbage Club will begin its summer season Wednesday at the Spokane Valley VFW, 212 S. David St., at 6:30 p.m.
