McKenna kicks off run for governor

Mike Baker Associated Press

BELLEVUE, Wash. – Attorney General Rob McKenna said he is the best person to become Washington’s next governor, vowing to restore fiscal discipline in Olympia.

McKenna officially launched his campaign Wednesday night at a Bellevue event attended by hundreds of supporters.

He said state government is headed in an unsustainable direction, that agencies can be more efficient with fewer employees. He also said the state can attract jobs by lowering regulatory hurdles for businesses and investing more in public education.

McKenna hopes to become the first Republican to hold the post in more than a quarter of a century.

Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire said this week she hasn’t decided whether she will seek a third term.

McKenna is the right man with the right message after more than 25 yrs of Democrat control.

Never before have we had the need to do more with less. Democrats only know how to do more with more.

McKenna’s messge is to lock everyone up and damn the Constitution. Have you read some of the nonsense coming out of the AG’s office sine Gregoire fleeted up out of there?

    Like we need ANOTHER Attorney?

We need good people like Phil Talmadge or the State Auditor to come in and clean house.

Remember thats what Gregoire PROMISED to do and we still have the same bureacrats porking out at the trough.
