Accident triggers backup on westbound I-90
Westbound lanes of Interstate 90 have slowed to a crawl through downtown Spokane after an accident occurred on construction lanes just west of Maple Street.
The Washington State Patrol reported that the 3 p.m. accident was blocking the left-hand lane that runs through a narrow chute next to concrete barriers. The accident involved at least one injury, but details were not available.
Traffic on the viaduct in downtown was stop-and-go at 3:30 p.m., but was flowing at low speeds just after 4 p.m.
