SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce will have a Candidates Fair today in the Great Room at CenterPlace Regional Event Center, 2426 N. Discovery Place, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Attendees will have an opportunity to meet candidates: John Carroll, Ben Wick, Mike Padden, Jeff Baxter, Michael Noder, Dee Dee Loberg and Steve Salvatori.

Elite Gymnastics plans open house
YARDLEY – On Friday, Spokane Elite Gymnastics, 5615 E. Broadway Ave., will hold an anniversary party and open house from 1 to 7 p.m.

Valley committee seeks volunteer
SPOKANE VALLEY – The city of Spokane Valley is looking for someone from the hospitality industry to sit on its Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. The committee makes recommendation on how the city’s lodging tax funds are spent. The empty committee seat is for a volunteer representative of a business that is required the collect the lodging tax.

Swim pass donations sought
SPOKANE COUNTY – The Make a Splash project is reaching out to the community to help keep kids cool this summer.
In two days earlier this month, 1,100 swimming passes were given to area children and the funds for the program have run out. More than 300 children are now on the waiting list at the Salvation Army. Without support from donors, the kids will not be able to go swimming this summer in Spokane aquatic centers.
Passes are $20 for each swimmer.

The project’s goal is to ensure that children who cannot afford to pay to swim in the pools and aquatic centers in the cities of Spokane and Spokane Valley and Spokane County are not left out. Swim passes are still available at Spokane Valley Partners for the city of Spokane Valley and Spokane County, as well as the Spokane County North and South aquatic centers.
‘Pirates’ to invade Lake CdA again
COEUR D’ALENE – “The Pirates of the Coeur d’Alene” cruise has set sail again this summer on Lake Coeur d’Alene. Families can hop aboard on the 90-minute adventure now through Sept. 5.
The interactive venture features a rogue captain, a bumbling crew and a search for pirate booty. The cruise includes comedy, a sing-along session and dancing, and passengers will depart the ship with their own treasure.
Cruises run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m. Cost is $30.75 for adults, $20.75 for children ages 6-12 and free admission for children 5 and younger.

Business attire needed for women
RIVERSIDE – St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, 711 S. Cowley St., is now accepting donations for the Wardrobes for Women program.
New or gently used dress slacks, blouses, skirts, dresses, shoes, handbags and accessories are needed for women in the community who are transitioning back into the workforce. Casual or summer-wear items cannot be accepted.

Little Kicks registration open
COMSTOCK/SPOKANE VALLEY – Registration is now available for Valley Youth Soccer’s Little Kicks program, for kids ages 2 to 4.
The program includes, age-appropriate activities and games, centered around soccer and helps improve athletic skills and fitness.
Little Kicks is a five-week program and will begin July 13 at Sacajawea Middle School, 401 E. 33rd Ave., or on July 14 at Trent School, 3303 N. Pines Road. The one-hour sessions begin at 5:45 p.m.
Cost is $45 per child. Registration deadline is June 30.
