Swim pass donations sought

SPOKANE COUNTY – The Make a Splash project is seeking donations for the summer swim pass program for children from low-income families.

In two days earlier this month, 1,100 swimming passes were given to area children and the funds for the program have run out. More than 300 children are now on the waiting list at the Salvation Army.

Passes are $20 for each swimmer.

To help area kids, send a check to Make a Splash, in care of Spokane Parks Foundation, P.O. Box 2021 Spokane, WA 99210-2021, or visit the website at www.spokaneparks foundation.org/splash.

The project’s goal is to ensure that children who cannot afford to pay to swim in the pools and aquatic centers in the cities of Spokane and Spokane Valley and Spokane County are not left out. Swim passes are still available at Spokane Valley Partners for the city of Spokane Valley and Spokane County, as well as the Spokane County North and South aquatic centers.
