In brief: Fireworks, music on Fourth of July at Pavillion Park

LIBERTY LAKE – The Friends of Pavillion Park will celebrate Independence Day on July 4 with a concert and fireworks. The live entertainment will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by Men in the Making.

Following the concert, Liberty Lake will put on its annual fireworks display, starting at 10 p.m.

The family-friendly event is free and open to the community.

Events at Ron’s to help Valley Meals on Wheels

SPOKANE VALLEY – Ron’s Drive Inn, 12502 E. Sprague Ave., will host a hot rod show and burger eating contest on July 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The eating contest begins at 2 p.m.

Cost to enter the contest is $20 per person in advance or $25 the day of the event and proceeds will benefit Valley Meals on Wheels. Prizes will be awarded through 10th place and the person who eats the most could win $200. All contestants will receive a T-shirt.
