Okay, we now know the driver of a vehicle who hit a pedestrian was wearing a seatbelt. Really……..does the staff even proof-read these stories. Were there any details about the cause of the accident. Was the driver possibly intoxicated, speeding, or distracted? Oh, that’s right, she was wearing a seatbelt. Try a little harder Spokesman. Ask a few more questions. Investigate already, or you could just write about the weather.

Barb, The WSP issues a standard memo form, and the story is a rundown of that information. We have been asked by other readers to indicate whether seat belts are being worn if we have it. Our editors also want it. That information is provided routinely by WSP as part of its public awareness and safety efforts.

Now you see why the pedestrian crossing signs, reduced speed limit signs, trooper car, etc. is very visible through there. Very unfortunate.

That highway needs to be diverted around all the small towns that dot it’s length throughout Eastern Washington. The Main Streets can become part of a “business loop” like you see almost everywhere else.

Howard Kuenzi was a good friend of mine. I don’t understand how come no-one was charged. If all the other cars were stopped so he could cross, how come she gets to run him down an not even get charged? Is it not still illegal to run over a pedestrian? How long is this investigation going to take? Will it get swept away, and forgotten like so many other stories? We americans seem to have short memories! I loved Howard and don’t want it swept away. He was taking care of a lady that has no use of her legs! Who will take care of her now? Where is this investigation?
