Eastern Washington Eagles outlook

RECORD: 10-19 overall, 7-9 Big Sky

COMING UP: Saturday at Weber State (17-11, 11-5), 6:30 p.m.

OUTLOOK: The Eagles earned an immediate rematch against Weber State in Saturday’s opening round of the Big Sky tournament by upsetting the Wildcats 75-59 in Ogden, Utah, on Wednesday in a regular-season finale. The win gives EWU a split in the season series but did not improve its sixth seed into the tournament, which means the Eagles must return to Ogden to deal with the third-seeded Wildcats again. The key to the rematch will once again hinge on Eastern’s ability to defend against the 3-point shot. Weber came into Wednesday night’s game shooting better than 42 percent from beyond the arc, but made just six of the 15 3-pointers it tried.
