Idaho Vandals outlook

RECORD: 16-12 overall, 8-7 WAC

COMING UP: Tonight vs. Fresno State, 7:05; Saturday vs. Seattle University, 7:05 p.m.

OUTLOOK: Aside from conference- champion and top-seeded Utah State, the other seven spots for the WAC tournament in Las Vegas next week remain unsettled. The Vandals can assure themselves of either the third or fourth seed – and a first-round bye – if they complete a season sweep of Fresno State (13-15, 5-9) in their final WAC regular-season game. But if they lose, they could finish fifth or sixth depending on how Nevada and Hawaii fare. “A first-round bye is at stake,” coach Don Verlin said. Saturday against Seattle, UI will honor its three seniors – Jeff Ledbetter, Shawn Henderson and Brandon Wiley. UI lost at Seattle (11-18) in December.
