Letter: No pet deserves to be abandoned

Once again an abandoned cat showed up on our doorstep, and once again our cats chased it away before I had a chance to feed the poor thing its last meal. I couldn’t even count the number of abandoned cats I have seen around our place this winter.

I realize that people are losing their jobs and losing their homes and can’t keep their pets, but abandonment is not the answer. If you are even remotely human or have even a speck of compassion in your soul, please take your unwanted pets to the animal shelter.

They have a thousand times better chance of getting adopted there than they have up here on Green Bluff where they just die a lingering, miserable, lonely death.
