Northwood Presbyterian Church, 6721 N. Monroe St., will present “Undie Sunday,” an event to collect packaged undergarments for area youths.

The church will collect undergarments on or before Sunday which will be distributed to Liberty Park Day Care, Crosswalk and Cup of Cool Water.

Especially needed are underwear in sizes 4T through children’s 10-12; girls’ petite sizes; husky boys’ sizes; boys and girls ages 14-23; girls’ size 4-6; maternity underwear for the teen pregnancy program; long underwear; camisoles and bras, 32A-36C; socks for children and teens.

Fat Tuesday events

• St. Mark’s Lutheran Church , 316 E. 24th Ave., will celebrate Fat Tuesday with its fifth annual Jazz Mass Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The music has been composed by Dan Keberle and musicians joining him will be Carol Miyamoto on piano and the St. Mark’s choir.

The service will include a reception with desserts.

• Lutheran Ministries Northwest will present a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper on Tuesday, 5 to 6 p.m., at West Central Community Center, 1603 N. Belt St. Donations will be accepted.

There will also be an Ash Wednesday Bible study and coffee Wednesday at 1 and 7 p.m. at the NorthTown Barnes & Noble Café.

Lenten series

St. Augustine Parish, 428 W. 19th Ave., will present “Touching the Mysteries: Scripture and the Holy Rosary,” Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m., March 9 through April 6.
