Washington State Cougars outlook

RECORD: 18-10 overall, 8-8 Pac-10

COMING UP: Today vs. USC, 7 p.m.; Saturday vs. UCLA, 2:30 p.m. (FSN)

OUTLOOK: The way the Pac-10 schedule works, schools open and close the season against the same opponents. So it’s taken 10 weeks to get to the rematches of WSU’s conference-opening defeats. USC (9-7, 17-12) has won four consecutive games and five of six to move into fourth place. Junior center Nikola Vucevic leads the Pac-10 in rebounding (10.3 per game) and is third in scoring (17.5). First-place UCLA (12-4, 21-8) has won eight of nine games and is coming off a 71-49 undressing of Arizona last weekend. Saturday is senior day, with walk-on Ben Loewen (Mead High) the only player being honored.
