Wallace woman dragged, injured in car theft

An elderly woman was dragged a short distance by her car on Sunday as it was being stolen from her in Wallace, the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office reported. The woman suffered minor injuries, and law enforcement officers eventually arrested two people in the woman’s stolen Kia Spectra. Booked into Shoshone County Jail were Brett Bosh, 28, and Theresa Bosh, 25, both of North Dakota. They were each being held for grand theft, burglary and resisting and obstructing officers. In addition, Brett Bosh was booked for driving under the influence and felony eluding of officers. Sheriff’s deputies were initially called to 100 Front Street shortly before 3 p.m. to a theft of the Kia in progress. Witnesses reported that Ione L. Halkowiez, of Wallace, had been dragged a short distance while trying to stop the thieves from taking her car. She was treated for minor injuries, deputies said. A few minutes later, deputies spotted the Kia heading toward an on-ramp to Interstate 90. Deputies tried to stop the driver, but a chase ensued in the westbound lanes. At one point, the driver of the stolen car reversed direction. The chase went on for about 20 minutes. Kellogg police and Idaho State Police were responding about the time that the driver stopped. The Boshes were then arrested.
