Heinz Carl Brunotte

Heinz Carl Brunotte is celebrating his 100th birthday today. He was born March 14, 1911, in Leipzig, Germany. He has lived in the Spokane area for the past 33 years.

Brunotte’s family moved to the United States from Germany in 1913. He met his wife, Irene Bolon, in Minnesota. They were married in 1942 and still maintain their home together in Spokane.

Brunotte served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II in the Pacific Islands. After he returned to the States, Brunotte and his wife built and ran a summer resort in northern Minnesota until 1959. They then moved to Florida where Brunotte built and sold houses. They lived in the Florida Keys until 1978, when they moved to Elk.

Brunotte enjoyed traveling and has been to Europe several times, as well as to Mexico and Central America. He also took a trip down the Amazon River.

Brunotte has one daughter, Diane Riepe, Spokane. He also has one granddaughter.
