A passion for European autos along with the knowledge and skills to tinker with them steered two work buddies toward opening complementary businesses.
Longtime employees of a local Volkswagen dealership, Sven Osusky and Jimmy Conley now share the same location for their two companies along Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley in a building that originally housed a Goodyear Tires retailer.
Since early February, it’s been EuroPro Automotive, a service and repair shop specializing in European vehicles that Osusky and his wife Heidi own, and Euro Union owned by Conley who sells parts and plans to sell used cars when dealership paperwork is finalized. Conley – a foreign auto collector – also coordinates complete restoration work for foreign autos.
The building features a sales showroom, repair garage with six work bays, and separate work room for auto restoration.
“We’ve always talked about doing something like this,” Conley says of the combined business operation. “Nobody’s doing what we’re doing. We work with all European autos. Volkswagen and Audi is our focus. That’s what we love.”
The trio agrees they’ve filled a need in the area to offer quality independent service and repair work and new parts sales, including those hard to find parts for older Volkswagens.
“It’s kind of like our slogan,” says Sven Osusky, who has 20 years experience in the automotive industry and recently worked as foreman in a dealer service department. “We want to do what a dealership does with better customer service, better prices and better quality.”
Osusky currently is the sole mechanic at the shop. He and his wife, who serves as office manager, take pride in the superior workmanship and excellent customer service.
EuroPro Automotive offers everything from complete engine and transmission rebuilds to minor troubleshooting and maintenance. And although they specialize in VW and Audi, they have the tools and equipment to work with all European vehicles and most other imports and domestics.
