CdA Police investigate child enticing

Coeur d’Alene Police are asking for help identifying a man who confronted two children who were riding their bicycles near their home just after noon today. Two girls, one 8 and the other 6, were playing near the northwest corner of 12th Street and Young Avenue when a male described as “older” with a thin build approached them. The man pointed at the girls as he exited his vehicle and yelled “hey you two,” Sgt. Brandon McCormick wrote in a news release. The man then said “let’s go” as he grabbed for the younger girl. Both of the girls were able to run away but the man chased them a short distance on Young Avenue. The girls made it to their home where their parents called Coeur d’Alene Police. The man had a mustache, brown eyes and short brown hair. He was wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans, McCormick said. The vehicle he was driving may have been an older model Plymouth Voyager-style mini van, McCormick said. He was last seen traveling south on 11th Street. Several officers searched the area but were unable to locate the man. Anyone with information about the man is asked to call the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at (208) 769-2320.
