Volunteer host sought for Idaho campground

From Staff Reports

The Idaho Panhandle National Forests is looking for a volunteer campground host at the historic Snyder Guard Station near the Moyie River in Boundary County.

The host position comes with a single-bedroom residence at the guard station, which includes camp spots and cabin rentals. The host position is intended for singles or couples; the house is not adequate for children.

Forest Service officials would prefer a host willing to take the position for 12 months, but would consider a minimum commitment from May through November. The rent is free for the host residence unless the host stays through the winter, when a $225-per-month fee is charged. A host will be selected by May 10.

A detailed list of job duties is included in application packets, which are available from the Bonners Ferry Ranger District by calling (208) 267-5561 or by emailing pahart@fs.fed.us.
