‘Greatest generation’ deserving of home

With due respect for the opposition, I rise in favor of the retirement complex planned on St. John Vianney property.

If Catholic charities is denied this opportunity to provide for the elderly comfortable accommodations to live out their lives with dignity then who will?  Yes, I am talking about citizens of the “greatest generation” – some who have fought to uphold our constitution. As have I.

As a member of St. John Vianney for the last 28, I have driven on Walnut Road weekly. I have yet to experience a traffic jam. Even with the apartments located less than a quarter mile away.

Where were the protesters when these apartments were being built. I guess it was the right place and the right time.

I respectfully ask the City Council members to give this matter serious consideration in favor of our elderly. They earned it and it’s pay back time. It’s the right time
