I’m confused by Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler’s comments on the cost associated with the benefits of the new health care law (“Insurance chief lists benefits of health care law,” March 24) and the amount of increase in premiums he cites.
Mr. Kreidler cites that premiums have risen 3 to 5 percent following the enactment of Obamacare. Wow, I’m hoping he will contact me and let me know what insurance company in Washington state had that small of an increase. My small company’s insurance benefits increased 33 percent, and all of the plans saw an increase in deductible.
Sorry to be so cynical. I’m sure Mr. Kreidler can point out one plan that had such a small increase, but it most certainly was not the norm. Maybe it was the state’s plan, given they control the increases through the state’s insurance commissioner’s office. Help me, Commissioner Kreidler!
