Oregon coach Altman has a dilemma

Oregon coach Dana Altman says Creighton wouldn’t have been his first choice for an opponent in the College Basketball Invitational championship series. Altman had 11 straight 20-win seasons and seven NCAA tournament appearances in 16 years at Creighton. He left the Bluejays last April to take the Oregon job. The series begins in Omaha, Neb., tonight. Game 2 will be Wednesday in Eugene, Ore. If Game 3 is necessary, it will be in Eugene on Friday. Altman says he’ll probably feel terrible, win or lose. “A lot of history with those guys,” Altman said, “and it’s just uncomfortable trying to compete against them. I’ll feel terrible if we lose. I might feel just as bad if we win.”
