In brief: Ladies golf group set to play

LATAH VALLEY – The Par-Tees Nine-Hole Ladies Golf League at The Creek at Qualchan Golf Course, 301 E. Meadowlane Road, will kick-off the season in April.

The Par-Tees play each Tuesday afternoon, through September. Club membership is $27, Golf Handicap and Information Network membership is $28.

Five Guys open in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Valley location of Five Guys Burgers and Fries has opened for business at 10 N. Sullivan Road.

The business is owned by the same Montana-based company that opened a Five Guys location on Spokane’s South Hill last fall. The restaurant offers burgers, hot dogs, veggie sandwiches and Cajun seasoned fries. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The phone number is (509) 927-2846.

Group answers fundraising call

Spokane Valley – Spokane Valley Partners, 10814 E. Broadway Ave., is collecting food donations through April in a fundraising challenge led by Feinstein Foundation, an anti-hunger group which distributes money to organizations based on the amount of donations and pledges they collect.

Food donations may be dropped off Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesdays from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
