Walla Walla CC takes both games of baseball over CC Spokane
CC Spokane opened its conference season by dropping a baseball doubleheader at Walla Walla, 9-2 and 4-2, on Wednesday.
Taylor Hustad had three hits, including two doubles, in the opener for the Sasquatch and added a single in the second game.
Seth Peterson had a double and a single in the second game for CCS (10-8, 0-2 NWAACC).
Walla Walla (12-4) used two big innings, a three-run first and a five-run sixth, in the first-game victory.
In the second game, the Warriors scored in the seventh to tie the game and won it with two runs in the eighth.
The Spokane Shock announced that wide receiver/linebacker Chris Hemphill has been added to the roster and placed defensive lineman Terrance Taylor on injured reserve.
Hemphill, 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, played for the Shock in af2 in 2009, finishing that season with Tri-City. He started this AFL season with the Utah Blaze. He played last year with the Orlando Predators.
He played college ball at Washington and Central Washington.
