Jury clears city of Olympia over search

Associated Press

SEATTLE – A federal jury in Seattle has cleared the city of Olympia and one of its police officers of allegations that it violated the rights of three Iraq War protesters who were ordered to strip to their undergarments at the city jail.

The three women were among about three dozen protesters arrested at the Port of Olympia in November 2007. They claimed that they were ordered to strip down to see-through camisoles in front of male guards and were denied blankets or other cover-ups.

The city argued that the women’s breasts were never exposed.
