Lewiston man investigated in death of ex-wife

Police in Lewiston, Idaho, arrested a man early Sunday for allegedly killing his ex-wife. Alerted to a possible homicide at 1:05 a.m., police went to the home at 310 Eighth Ave., Capt. Thomas Greene wrote in a brief press release. Officers found Beth Thomas unconscious and performed CPR; she was later pronounced dead in the emergency room at St. Joseph Hospital. Joe Thomas “was taken into custody at the scene for homicide and incarcerated at the Nez Perce County Jail,” Greene wrote. “The investigation is continuing.” The local newspaper, the Lewiston Tribune, is reporting that Joe Thomas, 37, is a former Nez Perce County sheriff’s deputy.
