Gas pump hits sour note

It now takes big SUVs $100 to fill up a tank of gas, and with the Fourth of July coming up in a few months – our Independence Day – our need for independence from big oil is mandatory. So to give Santa time to fulfill my Christmas list, I am submitting it to Santa now (with respect to Janis Joplin and her song, “Mercedes Benz”).

Dear Santa,

Won’t you buy me a electric car? My friends all drive gas-guzzlers, I must make amends. Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends. So, Santa, won’t you buy me a electric car?

Thanks, Santa.
