Two arrested after crash on South Hill

Two men allegedly racing on East 29th Avenue are under investigation for vehicular assault by Spokane police after their vehicles crashed on Monday night.

Vyacheslav Bychkov, 23, and Vicktor Larkin, 27, were headed west on 29th Avenue at Pittsburg Street when they both lost control of their vehicles about 11 p.m.

Bychkov crossed over the eastbound lanes and slammed into a tree, police said. A woman passenger was injured and taken to a hospital, but her injuries were not life threatening.

Larkin also crossed over the eastbound lanes, but his vehicle struck a pickup truck. The collision caused Larkin’s vehicle to flip on its side.

Police said that alcohol consumption and excessive speed are being investigated.
