Sounders lose at D.C.

Charlie Davies (pictured right) scored his MLS-leading sixth goal and added an assist to guide D.C. United to a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday night. Josh Wolff also had a goal and an assist, and Andy Najar chipped in with two assists to help D.C. (3-4-1) snap a two-game skid with its first home win over Seattle in team history. The Sounders won on each their three previous trips to RFK Stadium. Brad Evans scored on a penalty kick in the 71st minute to cut the deficit in half for Seattle, which hadn’t lost since starting the season 0-2. Evans’ goal came after Fredy Montero drew a penalty for tangling with D.C.’s Dejan Jakovic. United’s Bill Hamid made two crucial late saves.
