Construction backing up I-90 westbound

A project to resurface concrete pavement just west of downtown is causing another traffic backup for westbound traffic on Interstate 90 in downtown Spokane this afternoon. Vehicles are being funneled into two lanes over the Latah Creek Bridge where a long-term restriction was recently put in place. Traffic this afternoon was backed up from the approach to the bridge to about the Division Street off-ramp. Motorists should be careful approaching downtown from the east because of the slow-moving traffic. A backup also occurred on Thursday, and it took about five to ten minutes of extra travel time to get through it. Transportation officials earlier this year said they anticipated the slow downs.
