Gonzaga junior forward Kayla Standish has accepted an invitation to try out for the USA Women’s World University Games team.

Standish, a 6-foot-3 forward from Ellensburg who was All-West Coast Conference after averaging 17.1 points and 8.4 rebounds, will join 34 other players in Colorado Springs, Colo., May 22-25. She had back-to-back 30-point games in the NCAA tournament as Gonzaga had its most successful season in school history, reaching the Elite Eight.

She is the third Bulldog to get invited, joining Courtney Vandersloot and Heather Bowman, who were invited in 2009. Bowman did not participate because of an injury.
