Fairchild crew rescues victim of ATV crash
A helicopter crew from the 36th Rescue Flight at Fairchild Air Force Base today rescued a man involved in a roll-over ATV accident near Mullan, Idaho.
The man, whose name and age are not yet available, was in a remote area, said Tech. Sgt. J.G. Buzanowski, a Fairchild public affairs officer.
“He was in a place where there were no roads,” Buzanowski said. “No one on the ground was going to be able to get to him.”
The helicopter for Fairchild is equipped with a hoist, allowing rescuers to lift the injured man aboard. He then was transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
Buzanowski said the Fairchild crew got the call about 2 p.m. and had retrieved the injured man about 4:30 today.
