Motorcyclist injured in head-on collision

A motorcyclist was hospitalized today after sustaining injuries in a crash Highway 97, just south of Interstate 90 in Idaho. Nicholas Putnam, 21, of Spokane, was taken to Kootenai Medical Center and later transferred to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane after crashing his Suzuki motorcycle about 2:04 p.m. Hospital officials said they do not have any information on his condition at this time. Putnam was northbound when he went left of the center line while negotiating a blind right curve. Nancy Boris, 69, of Harrison, was southbound in a BMW Z3 on the same curve. Putnam, who was wearing a helmet, tried to return to his own lane but lost control and struck Boris head-on. Boris was uninjured.
