Letter: Trouble for coaches

Here we go again. Not only does a high school coach need to be concerned with how many wins his team sustains, but apparently he must also take into consideration how his team won, whom he played in the process and were players’ parents satisfied.

Does he, at the same time, have a gutless principal who is “sensitive” to parental complaints?

To me, it is unconscionable that some parents have the gall to second-guess a coach when they have never seen a single practice.

All they have to go on is the unbiased, always right input they get from their offspring. Thank God that during the 28-year coaching-teaching experience I had at Lewis and Clark during the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, I was exposed to nothing but appreciative, cooperative parents.

I wonder how these anonymous, conniving parents would feel if their own job performance was subjected to similar scrutiny.
