3 stabbed, 2 arrested after Spokane bar fight
Three men were stabbed after officers broke up a fight in a parking lot in downtown Spokane Thursday, police said today.
Two of the victims were arrested after being treated for non-life threatening stab wounds at local hospitals.
Christopher R. Petty, 23, was arrested on a third-degree assault charge for his alleged involvement in the fight, and Andre D. Jones, 22, was arrested on warrants for second-degree burglary, driving while suspended and possession of marijuana.
Police say the men argued at the Marquee Lounge before bouncers kicked them out. Bicycle patrol officers saw them in a parking lot “sent the men on their way,” according to a news release.
But Petty was driving downtown just before 2 a.m. when he saw Jones again and pulled over to confront him, leading to the knife fight. Witnesses said Petty was armed with a baton. Police located him near East Sprague Avenue and South Sherman Street, according to a probable cause affidavit.
“Most of the people involved were not cooperative with police so it wasn’t immediately clear who had the knife,” police said.
Petty was ordered released from jail on his own recognizance today after appearing before Superior Court Judge Michael Price.
