Consider water bill when voting

I have just received my latest city of Spokane utility bill. The water consumption portion represents an increase of 30 percent over 2010 water consumption for a like amount of usage. This new water rate structure the city has imposed is going to cause a majority of citizens to either not water their yards or dramatically cut back on watering. This will result not only in brown lawns but trees being in water stress, making them very susceptible to insects and infestation.

This city does not have a water shortage, but a spending problem in wanting to dramatically increase the income to the water department, mainly for salary increases.

Citizens need to carefully consider the city management they desire when voting.
