Support wolf recovery

I attended and spoke at the recent hearing on the wolf recovery plan. The Fish and Wildlife representatives spoke about how their plan meets both recovery objections and provides for tools to manage any impacts on ranchers or the deer or elk herds.

I was pleased to see that the vast majority in attendance were supportive of the plan. That is consistent with a Washington Fish and Wildlife poll showing 70 percent of the public supports wolf recovery.

The plan deserves our ongoing support because wolves are a key part of nature’s balance and the ecosystem. As a pastor, I have great respect for the precious gift of the Earth and all living things. I feel we are all stewards responsible for the care of this fragile and vulnerable planet which is our home.
