Tap judge’s paycheck

Now let me get this straight: A deputy city clerk embezzles $139,000 from Kootenai County, pays $49,000 in restitution, and spends 90 days in jail. That means that she made $1,000 for each day she spent in jail.

Sign me up for a year of living at the taxpayers’ expense. That amounts to $365,000 a year – tax free.

Oh yeah, this is because Sandra Martinson has no prior criminal record. A whole slew of people have no criminal record who do not get $1,000 a day.

Judge Fred Gibler should have $90,000 taken out of his paycheck.
