You pay corporate taxes
Several candidates vying for the presidency in 2012 have tax reform in their platform. Of those that have actually put pen to paper, some have proposed lowering the corporate tax. The immediate cry from some camps is the candidate favors business over the folks.
But think about it. If any of you believe that any “for profit” corporation pays any corporate tax at all, raise your hand. If you didn’t raise your hand, you may stop reading here if you like. Those who raised their hand, listen up.
Corporations pay no corporate tax whatsoever. The consumer pays all corporate taxes via the purchase price of the goods they buy. So if the corporate tax rate is raised or lowered, the consumer will pay more or less to live.
Some will ask, “But doesn’t the government need the money?” If a corporation pays less tax, the fair market system will force its pricing down and the consumer will benefit. And as their products are more affordable, more of them will be sold. The lower tax will be paid on higher revenues. So don’t worry about the general fund.
Lower corporate tax rates are better for all of us, especially our poorest.
