Officials identify two killed in mobile home fire

Fire officials today identified the two people who died in an early morning fire on Wednesday. Ralph Skjothaug, 72, and Sharon Fischer, 70, died in the 4:44 a.m. fire at the Iron Wheel Mobile Home Park at 2002 South Inland Empire Way, according to Assistant Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer. The fire was accidental and caused by a cigarette. Two other fires that morning were caused by overheating or malfunctioning wires, Schaeffer said. One occurred at 4:24 a.m. fire on 28th Avenue, the other about two hours later at 6:21 a.m. at 722 South Jefferson Street. All residents escaped safely from those fires.
