Fairfield City Council – The council voted to grant permission for a wireless broadband pole to be installed on property used by the Fairfield Library. The council discussed the Main Street improvement project, which has been delayed by the need to coordinate with the railroad. The town is looking for volunteers with shovels or snowblowers who would be willing to help elderly or disabled residents with snow removal this winter. (Source: Town clerk Cheryl Loeffler)

Rockford City Council – The council voted to approve a 1 percent property tax increase for 2012. The town is working to purchase a used snowplow/sanding truck from the state Department of Transportation. There was also discussion about having a joint meeting with neighboring small towns to discuss law enforcement contract costs.
