Carroll College cruises over Valley City

HELENA – Led by its stingy defense and high-powered offense, the Carroll College football team made quick work of Valley City (N.D.) State (9-2), beating the Vikings 47-0 in the first round of the NAIA playoffs Saturday.

Fighting Saints quarterback Dane Broadhead completed 14 of 17 passes for 237 yards and three scores.

Carroll (11-1) advances to the quarterfinals next weekend against an opponent yet to be announced.
